I looked at a lot of threads on this forum and checked out dozens of sites and I was only able to find play-by-play data going back to the 2005-06 season (in one huge file on basketballvalue.com for that season or on popcornmachine.net, but popcorn was missing the first 4 or 5 weeks of that 2005-06 season)...

And yes, I am very good at manipulating URLs, which I did with NBA.com, espn.com and cbssports.com, but on all 3 sites, even though the links are showing for the 2005-06 season and maybe 1 or 2 previous seasons, those links to the play-by-play data are "dead"...

Does anyone have play-by-play data prior to the 2005-06 that they are willing to share?...

Or links to the above sites that I somehow missed to gather the data prior to 2005-06?...

I am not looking to sell this data, not looking to display this data on any website, not looking to do anything but use it for personal research...

I mean, if I need to sign anything like a privacy agreement or non-disclosure agreement of any type to get the info, I am willing to do so...I understand why people are protective of data like this, especially when they were the ones who did the work to accumulate it...I respect that...

I don't want to step on the efforts of others or claim this data to be mine in the future, I am simply looking to use the data for personal use...The data is a means to an end and it's for me, myself and I and nobody else...

Any help would be appreciated...
