A couple people I know have asked me, what are the advanced analytic sites for soccer? I think they're curious to see things like Ken Pomeroy's rankings of the teams (and others) as opposed to individual players.

Thanks,
Aaron

The issue with Football (soccer) analytics is the lack of publically available data. The standard 'boxscore' is Appearance, minutes, goals, assists, red/yellow cards...and thats it! Clubs subscribe to datasets from 3rd party suppliers but leagues do not publish data for the masses...hence no apbrmetrics type forum for football...yet!

I recommend you read the book ‘soccermetrics’ written by guys based here in London, England.

Read the book "Inverting The Pyramid" by Jonathan Wilson, an English journalist. A big chunk of the book is the revolution in soccer strategy started by a group in Kiev that used intense statistical analysis to determine the ideal way to play.

the fact that he calls FC Bayern München an outlier makes this a horrible analysis in my eyes. For the last ~20 years they would have always been on the far right and at the top on his graph.
He would probably have different results if he chose a different league (Spain, England) or simply a different year in Germany
