I've been reading this site since it was mentioned on TrueHoop some time ago and have been impressed by the research. I also work in the R&D Dept in one of the world's top sportsbooks, and was thinking that you guys might be ideal to help fill one of our permanent job openings. I also apologize if this is the inappropriate place to post this, but there doesn't seem to be a more convenient place to get in contact with the APBR populace. If you think you or someone you know might be interested and qualified for this position, please PM me with your qualifications and contact info and we can talk further.

Thank you,
Fishheads

P.S. This sportsbook does not do business with U.S. customers, so no worries about any dubious legality.

Statistical Lead and Data Coordinator
Position needs:
• Must have very strong background (5+ years experience) in Database Administration and Programming with extensive experience with SQL Server.
• Needs excellent data design skills in order to build new data models from the ground up that perform well, and can be used for basic reporting tools and advanced Cube, Warehousing, and Stats purposes.
• Must be capable of troubleshooting tricky data consistency problems in order to provide clean data for rigorous analysis.
• Data Warehousing experience a large plus
• Background in SPSS and statistical analysis also a plus

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Gathering/obtaining data from disparate sources in disparate formats and putting them into centralized result databases for use by business analysts.
• Creation of analysis-specific data sets for number crunching in Excel and also for SPSS. Will likely include importation of those data sets into SPSS for analysis.
• Query and script creation based on user-defined needs that focus mostly on sport, player, and business/marketing analysis.
• Managing and maintenance of all R&D databases.
• Review and optimization of developer scripts for user-requested reports, plus all R&D/Helm project development work.
