Some would feel Jerry West shouldnt have won it the year he lost in the finals but what about Wes Unseld in 1978. I havent seen a single game from that 7 game series so it couldve been some intangible elements involved but looking at the stats Im not impressed.

He averaged 9PPG, 11Reb, 4Ast, a fine line I guess, if your Ben Wallace, but his teammate Elvin Hayes averaged 20 and 12.

Just got me to thinking how many times the award has gone to a less worthy individual.

There has been so many undeserving regular season MVP and award winners. Why not in finals? Smile

I'm guessing Harlan Schreiber's latest post over at Hoopsanalyst inspired this question. Am I right?

I understand Harlan is a member of this forum. It would be great to hear from him more often, as his site is one of my favorites.
