Some would feel Jerry West shouldnt have won it the year he lost in the finals but what about Wes Unseld in 1978. I havent seen a single game from that 7 game series so it couldve been some intangible elements involved but looking at the stats Im not impressed.
He averaged 9PPG, 11Reb, 4Ast, a fine line I guess, if your Ben Wallace, but his teammate Elvin Hayes averaged 20 and 12.
Just got me to thinking how many times the award has gone to a less worthy individual. |

There has been so many undeserving regular season MVP and award winners. Why not in finals? |

I'm guessing Harlan Schreiber's latest post over at Hoopsanalyst inspired this question. Am I right?
I understand Harlan is a member of this forum. It would be great to hear from him more often, as his site is one of my favorites. |
