This isn't directly related to statistical analysis, but I am doing a research project on the race of NBA players and I am having problems finding the race of some of the older NBA players. Does anyone have any ideas of the best way to find this out? I have used search engines, but I can't seem to find pics, only articles. Thanks.

I don't have an answer for you but would you mind very briefly explaining your project?

You can go here,

http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/APBR/

... sign up, and request the attention of member John Grasso. He has a comprehensive Excel file with all sorts of personal info on all players.

I, too, am curious about your intentions. In the apbr message archive, you could find several episodes of NBA/race issues; mostly regarding the evolution of the league's racial %.
