Hadn't seen this until looking at his blog today.

I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that I’ve accepted an offer to work for an NBA team doing statistical analysis along the lines of the work I’ve posted on this site. The bad news is that the future research I do will be just for that team and won’t be something that I can publish and share with everyone.

Congrats, Eli, and know your work is definitely going to be missed.

In the comments on his site, he's asked what the team name rhymes with, and he says "Orange". Not sure what team that is ... maybe he means Suns or Bobcats.

It's a joke because nothing rhymes with orange.

He told me in an email. Not sure if he wants to say it publicly. Therefore, I won't say which team it is and will let him choose how he wants to handle the information.
