Bump.

Booked my hotel, I'll be in town for a few extra days before and after the weekend. Let me know by email or twitter if you want to hook up for a snack. If you tell me the secret phrase, I'll even pay for your coffee or beer.

Wish I could go but duty calls (graduate school at Northwestern). Enjoy the proceedings, everyone.

I'm only there for the day, but look forward to catching up. I really hope the secret phrase is "beard".

Thanks,
Aaron

PS It's a nice problem to have, but there are tons of interesting sounding sessions/presentations. We almost need to schedule ourselves to fan out to see everything and then post summaries, so we can find out what happens at each of the interesting talks.

I'm pretty sure the basketball stuff is scheduled such that you can spend the morning attending the research paper talks and the afternoon at regular agenda stuff.

PS secret phrase isn't beard. Nice try though.

Will you you be attending the Kellogg Sports Conference?

My compliments. Smile

Yeah, I most likely will attend. I figure that's consolation for me, given that I won't be able to make it to the Sloan Conference.

Are you attending, by any chance? Or anyone else here?

Last year they asked us to pre-register for certain sessions in advance. I haven't gotten any e-mail asking that so far this year. Has anyone else gotten one?

The place is so big that hopefully they will have plenty of room. But no I haven't gotten such an e-mail.

I won't be going, too for and too cold for a conference which sounds like it is more career- and business-oriented rather than research-oriented. But I think many people here would be interested in reading a report about what the conference is like.

There are plans for some pick up basketball on Sunday morning, if that hasn't been mentioned here. It was good fun last year.

I'm actually a student at Northwestern and hadn't heard about the conference until just now. I looked over the agenda and it seems nothing like the Sloan conference as this one focuses almost entirely on the marketing/business aspect of sports. Regardless, I'm interested somewhat in going (mainly because its a sports conference and I'm jealous of the Sloan one) and wondering what you would be interested in hearing about? Do you care about the marketing side or are you just interested in what another sports conference is like?

Basketball City, I believe. It's a rooftop enclosed gym up by the Garden. I think we're going at 11am. We'll figure it out a bit more at the event.

I shall be there for the conference, and most likely the pick up basketball as well. Laughing
