Hi all - I'm a full-time operations person with the San Diego Padres
(doing sabermetrics, among other things). My degrees are in
mathematics, statistics, and biostatistics, and my outside areas
of interest are quantitative genetics, gene microarrays, and
evolutionary biology.
Basketball is a very challenging area to apply analytical techniques
to, and I've enjoyed reading about it and keeping up with it.

Hey Chris. Welcome aboard. Make sure you vote for Dirk in the First Half MVP thread -- the big guy needs a little sugar. And if you catch me writing anything stupid, be sure to pipe up. I need all the help I can get, especially from you college cats. _________________ ed |

Welcome aboard. San Diego. Reminds me of when coming out of graduate school at Northwestern, my wife and I decided to take a trip to San Diego so that we could rule it out when I went on the job market the next. Well, we went to San Diego in February and let me tell you, it didn't work so well. We kind of liked San Diego - especially relative to Chicago at that time of year.
Best wishes,
Dan |
