2nd team

Ben Wallace has 61 blocks at home and just 19 on the road.
That may be some kind of a record.

He's had 3 or more blocks 9 times, all at home.
In his games w 2 blocks or more, just 3 of 24 are on the road.

Gerald Wallace gets 1.31 Blk/36 at home and only .60 on the road.
(Ben gets 2.15 and .75)

So in Charlotte, he's almost twice the shotblocker Ben is.
In Detroit, Ben gets 3.5 times as many as Gerald.

Bogut is the same player, home and away. Varejao, too. And Dwight.

Kyle Lowry's the only part-timer in John's list, and he's gone ~1600 minutes.
Tyrus is under 1200.

If you count Ronnie Brewer as a guard (bbr says "G/F"), then he's in instead of Ginobili

That would also be true of ezPM, however, I decided only to consider starters. If we're talking about reserves, then Allen, Brewer, and some others could be on the list(s).

Tony Allen's Stl% of 4.6 is the highest of any player >1500 minutes since Nate McMillan in 1994.
That season by Nate (5.8) is way higher than any before or since. And he actually had more steals than fouls.

Artest got 4.5% at age 22.
(Tony and Nate are/were 29.)
Next best by any current player are 2 by Chris Paul, way down at 3.9 ('08 and '09).

Does this mean no PG was better than zero on D ?
Who is Johnson? Joe?

Answer to the second (easier) question, yes, Joe Johnson.

As for the first question, the only PG who is positive on D100 (which, btw, doesn't include defensive rebounds) is Jose Barea at +0.4. Of course, he is a reserve, so I didn't include him on the list. Also, Dallas plays a lot of zone, which might make him an outlier.

Here are the average D100 ratings by position (averaged across all players who had >average # possessions):

PG -2.4
SG +0.48
SF +1.42
PF +0.83
C +1.21

Clearly, this is interesting behavior. You might expect 0's across the board. Relatively speaking, Rondo's net "0" rating is quite good compared to other PG. Steve Nash is -3.3. DJ Augustin is the lowest rated PG at -5.1.

In the whole sample of NBA players you might expect a 0, but since you limited it to those who played more than an average number of possessions, you're looking at the players that coaches believe have some value. So it isn't too surprising that the numbers are above 0. The observation that point guards are systematically lower is interesting though, especially if defensive rebounding can't be blamed. Maybe they're being over-penalized for giving up assists from other point guards?

So, the question is whether to debit counterpart assists on defense as much as we credit assists on offense. The flip side to what I showed is that point guards average +2.4 on offense (called "O100" in my metric).
